Join our imaging leadership team as an Imaging Specialist VI (Imaging Manager), with oversight for our CT, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine services at Hilo Benioff Medical Center. - Lead and manage daily operations of the CT, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine work units, ensuring high-quality, timely, and progressive imaging services by coordinating with departmental supervisors and implementing efficient workflows.
- Oversee staffing and personnel management, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation, to maintain competent coverage and ensure high-quality patient care.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and quality assurance, monitoring adherence to hospital policies, safety standards, and departmental procedures, while promoting continuous improvement through policy and procedural updates.
- Contribute to strategic planning and budget management by assisting in the development and control of budgets, analyzing expenditures, sourcing cost-effective solutions, and supporting long- and short-term departmental goals.
- Implement and manage operational changes, including workflow adjustments, equipment upgrades, and physical structure improvements to enhance both inpatient and outpatient services.
- Foster interdepartmental collaboration by working with other hospital leaders to optimize service delivery, participating in meetings, and representing the Regional Imaging Administrator when needed.
- Support technical operations when required, stepping in during staff shortages to perform imaging procedures, demonstrating modality competency, and managing resources to maintain consistent patient care.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an approved program recognized by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
Excess work experience as described below in the experience requirement section or any other responsible professional work experience; which provided knowledge, skills and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a baccalaureate degree from an approved program recognized by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
To be acceptable, the experience must have been of such scope, level and quality as to assure the possession of comparable knowledge, skills and abilities.
Substitution of Experience for Education:
- Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology with a certificate or associate degree and two (2) years of professional radiologic experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.

Specialized Experience: Progressively responsible professional work experience as a specialist in one of the following modalities; angiography, cardiac catheterization, computed tomography, echocardiography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy, ultrasound, or vascular in a clinical or hospital environment.
For Imaging Specialist VI positions:
Supervisory Experience: One (1) year of work experience which demonstrated the applicant's knowledge of and ability to apply the principles, practices, techniques and methods of supervision including 1) planning, organizing and directing the work of others; 2) assigning and reviewing work; 3) advising others on difficult work problems; 4) timing and scheduling work; 5) training and developing new employees.
For Imaging Specialist VI positions: Specialized Experience: Progressively responsible administrative work experience in Diagnostic Imaging Services, Special Procedures Services, and/or Cardiovascular Services in a clinical or hospital environment.
Certification: A current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT (R) and one of the following: ARRT (CT) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT or ARRT(N) or NMTCB.
- Preferred qualification: A current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT (R) and two (2) of the following: ARRT (CT) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT or ARRT(N) or NMTCB.
Licensure: A current State of Hawaii license as a Radiographer or Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

Imaging Years of Service Incentives
Employees in certain Imaging Specialist positions shall earn incentives based on the successful completion of the following years of service:
- 1 year of satisfactory service: $2,000 bonus
- 2 years of satisfactory service: $3,000 bonus
- ($5,000 is the maximum bonus that any employee may receive over the life of this agreement)

Shift Details
Must be available to work shifts, weekends and holidays as necessary based on hospital operations. Services are provided 24/7.
Pre-Employment Health Requirements
Offers of employment will be contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment examination, which includes a drug screen and other regulatory medical requirements such as, but not limited to, a tuberculosis (TB) screen. The cost for drug screening and blood draw for QuantiFERON and Titers, shall be borne by the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation.
