About this Opportunity:

The Hydraulics Project Engineer manages multiple simultaneous projects involving hydraulic power units, manifolds, and systems working closely with Sales, Purchasing, and Operations across the organization. This role performs engineering calculations, selects and configures components, and creates CAD models and drawings. The Hydraulics Project Engineer ensures timely, accurate project delivery by coordinating tasks across engineering, purchasing, and operations while maintaining quality standards. The position reports to the Engineer Manager, along with receiving direction from a Lead Engineer. Work outside normal business hours is required from time to time.

Location:

Evolution Motion Solutions is headquartered in Farmers Branch, TX with additional offices in TX, UT, AL, AZ, MT, OK, MA, MI IN, IL, OH and Canada. This position will be based out of our Noblesville, IN facility.

Requirements

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary duties.

· Manage multiple hydraulic engineering projects, hydraulic power units, manifolds, and systems from concept through delivery.

· Define project requirements, develop specifications and perform engineering calculations.

· Performing engineering calculations to define specifications for custom and commercial equipment.

· Research the internet and supplier catalogues to select and configure commercial components that meet required specifications.

· Using CAD tools to generate 3D models, and 2D drawings of custom parts, assemblies, and schematics that meet all project requirements.

· Communication with Purchasing and suppliers to obtain pricing and quotes for commercial and custom parts, fabrications, and components.

· Use the company ERP system to enter Sales Orders and create and manage Work Orders.

· Assisting the shop in troubleshooting manufacturing and testing problems.

· Quality review and sign-off on completed jobs.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills and/or abilities required. An individual must meet the minimum requirements as listed in each Qualifications subsection.

EDUCATION:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline or four years working for one company, with at least two of those years in a design or engineering role.

EXPERIENCE:

· Five to ten years’ experience of engineering preferably in hydraulic systems.

· Experience working with multiple industrial or mobile hydraulics applications.

· Advanced knowledge in selecting and specifying hydraulic components; familiarity with Rexroth, Hydac, Sun Hydraulics, IFM, DMIC preferred.

· Proven ability to perform engineering calculations and apply them to solve hydraulics application problems.

· Proficiency using multiple CAE tools such as Excel, Matlab, MathCAD, FEA, CFD, 1-D simulation software for analysis and design.

· Experience creating 3D models and 2D part assembly, and schematic drawings; AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault, and PDF editing tools preferred.

· Experience reviewing drawings for accuracy and compliance with project specifications.

· Experience managing drawing release and revision processes within Product Data Management PDM.

· Demonstrated success managing project tasks fand collaborating with design, purchasing, sales, and manufacturing teams.

· Proficiency using project reporting tools including Gantt Chars and action item lists.

· Experience with using enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for project coordination and documentation.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills across departments and with external partners.

Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze and resolve complex engineering challenges using appropriate tools and methods.

Software Proficiency: Skilled in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF editing software, and strong internet research capabilities.

Project Management: Ability to identify, prioritize, delegate, and follow up on tasks to ensure accurate, on-time completion.

Collaboration: Ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams and leverage internal and external expertise.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is regularly exposed to a general office environment. Noise and temperature levels are generally moderate. Role does require working in the shop floor environmental conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to a general office environment. Work outside normal business hours is required from time to time.
