Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for weekly payroll.
  • Oversee and manage the company's 401K plan, HSAs, and monthly allowances.
  • Handle employee timesheets, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of hours worked.
  • Process bonuses and AP entries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Stay abreast of multi-state payroll laws and regulations, ensuring company compliance.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary payroll documentation and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and service delivery.
  • Act as a point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, providing excellent customer service to employees and management.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Finance departments to align and streamline payroll procedures.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a payroll management role, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll procedures and best practices, as well as federal and state regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software, with a preference for candidates with experience in multi-state payroll processing.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex payroll information to non-financial audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Proven experience in managing internal and external audits related to payroll.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
