Human Resources Manager: Bergen County, NJ: $125,000–$140,000+
We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join a sizable law firm in Bergen County. This role serves as a key partner to senior leadership and plays a central role in firmwide HR operations. Human Resources Manager Position responsibilities are:
Partner with leadership on firmwide HR initiatives and day-to-day HR operations
Lead employee relations matters including performance management, disciplinary processes, workplace concerns, and conflict resolution
Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention initiatives
Evaluate and improve HR policies, procedures, and programs
Assist with workforce planning and staffing needs
Oversee performance review processes and employee development initiatives
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Partner internally on benefits administration and leave management
Maintain and update job descriptions and organizational structures
Provide reporting and analysis on HR trends and workforce metrics
Human Resources Manager position requirements are:
Approximately 5–10 years of progressive HR experience
Prior law firm experience strongly preferred
Strong background in employee relations and performance management
Experience supporting attorneys and professional staff
Ability to build credibility with leadership and staff at all levels
Strong judgment, communication skills, and problem-solving ability
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience
HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is a plus
