Goodwin Motor Group is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead our people strategy across a multi-location automotive dealership group in Maine and New Hampshire. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands the full employee lifecycle, automotive culture, and the pace of a high-performing dealership environment.

The Opportunity

As our Human Resources Manager, you will partner closely with senior leadership to oversee all HR functions, including recruiting, employee relations, performance management, compliance, benefits, and employee development. This role is designed for an HR professional who can hit the ground running, assess current processes, and lead confidently.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage the entire employee lifecycle, from workforce planning and hiring through development, performance, and offboarding
  • Oversee employee relations, investigations, compliance, and risk mitigation
  • Serve as the primary HR resource for managers and leadership
  • Utilize employee assessments to support hiring, performance, development, and succession planning
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, job descriptions, and employee handbooks
  • Manage recruiting, onboarding, workforce planning, and employer branding efforts
  • Oversee employee benefits programs and partner with vendors and legal resources as needed
  • Drive cultural initiatives that improve engagement, morale, and retention
  • Identify professional development needs and manage growth initiatives
  • Continuously evaluate HR practices and implement improvements aligned with business goals

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in a multi-location automotive dealership environment
  • Paylocity experience preferred
  • Proven experience managing the full employee lifecycle, including assessments, employee relations, and performance management
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Ability to operate independently with confidence and discretion 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, payroll platforms, and Microsoft Office
  • HR certification preferred
