Human Resources Intern
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Intern to support our People Operations team. This role offers a unique blend of foundational administrative support and high-impact project management. You'll start by mastering day-to-day HR workflows and progress to leading a critical compliance initiative: migrating and auditing I-9 documentation during our transition to a new HR Information System (HRIS). This is an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic HR environment while making a meaningful impact on our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Support: Assist with daily HR operations, including maintaining digital personnel files, processing employment verifications, and managing routine administrative tasks.
- HRIS Transition & I-9 Project: Serve as the primary lead for I-9 collection and auditing. You will ensure all documentation is accurate, compliant with federal regulations, and successfully migrated to our new HRIS platform.
- Recruitment Coordination: Help schedule interviews, correspond with candidates, and assist with onboarding logistics for new hires.
- Data Integrity: Conduct regular audits of HR data to ensure consistency and accuracy across platforms.
- Special Projects: Support the HR team with summer engagement initiatives and other ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program (Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred).
- Confidentiality: A high degree of discretion and the ability to handle sensitive employee information with professionalism.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills and a "compliance-first" mindset.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with employees at all levels.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Interest in or prior exposure to HRIS platforms is a plus.
Schedule & Compensation
- Spring Semester: Part-time (approximately 10-15 hours per week) to accommodate academic schedules.
- Summer Term: Full-time (up to 35 hours per week) starting May 2026.
- End Date: This internship will conclude on July 31, 2026.
