Job Summary:

The Human Resources Director provides strategic leadership and oversight of the organization’s human resources functions, ensuring HR programs, policies, and practices support business objectives and comply with applicable employment laws. This role partners with executive leadership and managers to support workforce planning, employee development, and organizational effectiveness. The HR Director promotes consistent HR practices across all locations while fostering a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace culture.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains in new staff in the department
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy 

Strategic HR Leadership:

  • Develop and implement the organization's HR strategy aligned with business goals
  • Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning and organizational development
  • Lead initiatives that support company culture, employee engagement, and retention
  • Provide guidance on complex employee relations and organizational issues
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on HR trends, compliance risks, and workforce planning

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:

  • Oversee and exercise recruitment strategy and hiring processes across all departments
  • Partner with managers on position planning and job description development
  • Ensure effective onboarding programs that support employee success
  • Develop succession planning and leadership development initiatives

Employee Relations & Culture:

  • Provide guidance and resolution on employee relations matters
  • Conduct workplace investigations when necessary
  • Promote a culture of transparency, respect, and accountability
  • Support leadership in managing performance and employee development

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Oversee compensation structure and salary benchmarking
  • Administer employee benefits programs in partnership with benefit providers and PEO partners
  • Provide guidance on compensation strategy and internal equity
  • Ensure accurate administration of payroll-related HR functions

Safety & Incident Management:

  • Oversee company-wide incident reporting procedures and safety documentation
  • Maintain centralized incident tracking and reporting systems
  • Investigate employee workplace injuries and safety incidents as necessary
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation claims with insurance partners and PEO providers
  • Partner with studio managers to identify safety risks and implement corrective actions
  • Track incident trends and present safety insights to executive leadership

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 7–10 years of progressive human resources experience
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a leadership or HR management role
  • Experience supporting multi-location operations preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of PEO/HRIS experience
  • SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP, PHR / SPHR highly preferred

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Occasional travel to studio sites
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
