WHC LLC (A Surerus Murphy Company) (WHC Energy Services), is seeking a Human Resources Advisor – Field Operations who is eager to learn, build strong relationships, and be a trusted HR presence for our field teams.
This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys being close to operations and partnering directly with field-based employees and leaders. The Human Resources Advisor – Field Operations serves as a key point of contact for project teams, supporting day-to-day HR needs while learning and growing in areas such as employee relations, HR processes and project support.
Working closely with operations and with support from senior HR leadership, this position helps ensure HR practices support project success, employee engagement, and a positive field experience. A willingness to be present in the field, build trust, and take initiative is essential.
The ideal candidate is curious, people-focused, and motivated to grow their HR career by learning through hands-on experience in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with field-based employees and operational leaders.
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for field-based employees.
- Be visible and engaged in the field, spending time on-site to understand employee and operational needs.
- Provide day-to-day HR support aligned with business and project objectives.
- Partner with field leaders to understand challenges and help identify practical HR solutions.
- Support the consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and programs across project locations.
- With guidance and support, assist with employee relations matters, learning to navigate issues thoughtfully and professionally.
- Promote compliance with company policies, employment laws, and health and safety requirements.
- Support project mobilization and demobilization activities, including onboarding and offboarding.
- Assist with performance management processes, including coaching leaders and supporting performance improvement plans.
- Support training, development, and engagement initiatives for field employees.
- Contribute to change management efforts related to HR programs and organizational changes.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and the field employee experience.
- Balance responsiveness to field needs with broader HR priorities.
Note: In addition to these duties, personnel may be required to carry out other reasonable tasks in support of company objectives..
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- SHRM certification (SHRM-CP) is an asset.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish is re quired.
- Minimum of 4 years of HR experience preferably supporting field, frontline, or project-based teams.
- Exposure to HR generalist or employee relations work is preferred, but deep expertise is not required.
- Experience in industrial, construction, energy, or similar environments is an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is based at our Woodlands, TX office. Regular travel is required, with an expectation of visiting a minimum of two project sites per month, for a minimum of three days per site. This role requires a strong on-site field presence.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Human Resources Advisor – Field Operations, reports directly to the Vice President, Human Resources.
