Description: Our client is currently seeking a HS Personal Care Assistant - Life Skills Support around the Delaware County area.
Position Title: Personal Care Assistant – Life Skills Support
Grade: High School Setting
Address: Drexel Hill, PA 19026
Hours: 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (subject to change)
Position Summary
Provide support to students receiving special education services in alignment with school policies and procedures. Responsibilities may include assisting with the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), providing direct support to students with diverse needs, collaborating with teachers and related service providers, supporting behavior intervention plans, helping coordinate IEP meetings, documenting student progress, and participating in problem‑solving teams.
Signing In & Out: Google Timesheets (review process with candidate)
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree preferred
High school diploma or official transcript with signature accepted as the minimum requirement; post‑secondary degrees or official transcripts also accepted
GED is not accepted
ParaPro test is not recognized as a credential for this area
Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
Knowledge of or willingness to learn special education practices
Ability to use multimedia and computer technology to support learning
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, administrators, and families
Position Responsibilities
Assist in developing, implementing, and supporting individualized education programs
Support the use of resources and technology to promote critical thinking and problem‑solving
Provide personalized support based on student needs and manage time effectively
Assist in monitoring student growth and follow assessment and grading procedures
Support student behavior management across various settings
Collaborate with colleagues, families, and community partners to promote student success
Participate in professional learning communities to strengthen instructional practices
Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats
Perform additional duties as assigned
