JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the HRIS Manager, the HRIS Technician (Level I, II, or III) supports the Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) environment for the Doyon Family of Companies. This position provides system support, reporting, documentation, training, and customer service related to HR systems such as UKG Pro, UKG Workforce Management, iCIMS, and other HR applications.
The level at which the position is filled will be based on qualifications and experience, with increasing responsibility, independence, and technical leadership at higher levels.
HRIS Technician I
The HRIS Technician will carry out daily responsibilities in support of the systems comprising the Human Resource Information System (HRIS). This position specifically focuses on providing help desk support and assistance with HR systems and projects. A knack for problem-solving, initiative and attention to detail are key to success in this role.
HRIS Technician II:
Independently supports HRIS operations, resolves more complex system issues, develops reports and documentation, assists with training, and serves as a lead resource for defined HRIS functions. Provides guidance to HRIS Technician I staff.
HRIS Technician III:
Serves as a senior technical resource and subject matter expert for HRIS systems. Leads system initiatives, supports implementations and upgrades, develops standards and advanced reporting, mentors other HRIS staff, and partners closely with HR leadership on strategic HRIS projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
All Levels
- Provide customer-focused support for HRIS and related HR systems
- Respond to, track, and resolve help desk requests
- Support recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, performance, and training systems
- Maintain data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality
- Create, update, and run HRIS reports
- Prepare and distribute HRIS communications
- Develop and maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures
- Support HR Service Center, shareholder outreach, and employee development initiatives as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Additional Responsibilities – Technician II & III
- Investigate and resolve complex system issues and recommend solutions
- Track help desk trends and identify improvement opportunities
- Develop and maintain training materials and user guides
- Serve as a functional lead for specific HRIS modules or tools
- Assist with HRIS implementations and enhancement projects
- Maintain HRIS intranet and SharePoint resources
Additional Responsibilities – Technician III
- Serve as technical lead and escalation point for HRIS issues
- Lead or support system upgrades, integrations, and testing
- Develop advanced reports, dashboards, and data analysis
- Establish HRIS standards and best practices
- Mentor and train HRIS Technician I and II staff
- Partner with HR leadership on strategic HRIS initiatives
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
HRIS Technician I
- High School diploma or GED
- One (1) year of experience using computer applications
- One (1) year of customer service experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
HRIS Technician II
- Two (2) years of HRIS or related system experience
- Two (2) years of customer service experience
- Two (2) years of experience using Excel
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential information
HRIS Technician III
- Four (4) or more years of progressively responsible HRIS experience
- Advanced experience supporting enterprise HR systems
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor staff
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (All Levels):
- Experience with UKG Pro, UKG Workforce Management, and/or iCIMS
- Help desk or technical support experience
- Experience creating procedures and system documentation
- AA/AS degree in a computer-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Advanced Excel or reporting experience
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities.
