Qualifications
2–3 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in a security, healthcare, construction, or multi-site operational environment
Experience supporting employee engagement initiatives and morale programs that positively impact performance and retention
Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance standards
Experience with recruiting, onboarding, and employee file management
Familiarity with licensing and regulatory tracking (experience in regulated industries is a plus)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking systems (ATS), or workforce management platforms preferred
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

Daily Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Onboarding
Review applications and screen candidates for open security officer positions
Schedule interviews and coordinate hiring manager calendars
Conduct initial HR interviews and reference checks
Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation
Facilitate new hire onboarding sessions
Ensure all licensing, certifications, and required documents are completed and verified
Coordinate uniform distribution and system access
2. Employee Records & Compliance
Maintain accurate employee personnel files (digital and physical)
Track guard licensing status (Level II, Level III, etc.) and renewal deadlines
Monitor compliance documentation in accordance with state and DPS/PSB regulations
Update HRIS and workforce management systems
Assist with audit preparation and compliance reviews
3. Employee Relations & Support
Serve as first point of contact for employee HR-related questions
Assist with documenting employee concerns, counseling, and performance discussions
Support leadership with performance improvement plans (PIPs)
Help coordinate disciplinary documentation when necessary
Maintain confidentiality in all HR matters
4. Morale & Engagement Programs
Develop and coordinate employee recognition initiatives
Organize morale-boosting programs and engagement activities
Assist with monthly or quarterly employee performance acknowledgments
Support retention strategies and feedback collection
Track engagement metrics and turnover trends
5. Administrative Support
Prepare HR reports for executive leadership
Maintain recruiting pipelines and candidate tracking spreadsheets
Assist with scheduling coordination for training sessions
Draft internal communications and HR announcements
Support leadership with meeting preparation and documentation
6. Training & Development Support
Coordinate training sessions (compliance, ALERRT, site-specific training, etc.)
Track training completion and certifications
Assist in scheduling refresher training and mandatory courses
Support ongoing professional development initiatives
7. Operational Coordination
Work closely with Operations and Field Supervisors on staffing updates
Assist with coverage tracking and onboarding timelines
Communicate hiring updates to leadership
Support urgent staffing needs when required

Position Summary:

The HR Specialist will play a key role in supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance tracking, and morale-building initiatives that directly impact officer performance and company growth. This position will also provide high-level administrative support to leadership, helping ensure smooth daily operations and internal communication.

Key Responsibilities:
