HR / Payroll Specialist
A healthcare facility in the Minoa area is seeking a detail-oriented HR / Payroll Specialist to support human resources functions while overseeing payroll coordination and employee administration. This position plays an important role in maintaining compliance, supporting staff, and ensuring efficient HR operations throughout the facility.
Position Overview:
The HR / Payroll Specialist is responsible for coordinating payroll processes, assisting with hiring and onboarding, and supporting employee relations and compliance initiatives. The role works closely with department managers and corporate teams to ensure accurate records, timely payroll processing, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate payroll timecards and serve as the liaison between the facility and Payroll Department to resolve discrepancies
• Assist employees with payroll and benefits-related questions and coordinate communication with benefits administration
• Process new hire requirements including background checks, reference verification, license verification, and time-clock enrollment
• Support recruitment efforts by posting positions, screening applicants, and participating in interviews
• Assist management with HR functions including employee status changes, disciplinary documentation, resignations, and terminations
• Facilitate onboarding and new hire orientation activities
• Maintain employee files and ensure HR documentation remains accurate and organized
• Support compliance with Department of Labor, Department of Health, OSHA, workers’ compensation, FMLA, and Paid Family Leave requirements
• Participate in meetings and assist with additional HR and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Prior HR, staffing, or payroll experience required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
• Knowledge of HR administration and employment compliance practices
• Payroll coordination experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with OSHA, workers’ compensation, FMLA, and PFL processes is a plus
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
