Venture Dynamics is seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee personnel operations in support of our maritime and industrial projects. This role manages recruitment, employee relations, and regulatory compliance to ensure a high-quality workforce for our naval and commercial ship repair contracts. Assignments for this professional role are project-based and may align with long-term contract work based on performance and operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR policies that align with HR Managerobjectives and shipyard safety standards.
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including high-volume sourcing of skilled trades and conducting candidate screenings.
- Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and maritime-specific employment laws and regulations.
- Monitor and address employee performance, conduct issues, and labor relations within an industrial environment.
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits, compensation packages, and internal personnel records.
- Collaborate with project management to foster a positive, inclusive, and productive work culture across all sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR Manager or within a heavy industrial/construction sector.
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws, including specific familiarity with maritime labor standards.
- Proven experience managing employee relations and conflict resolution in a fast-paced contracting environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
- Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive personnel data.
Preferred Qualifications
- HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR.
- Prior experience managing human resources for NAVSEA or government defense contractors.
- Experience with skilled trades recruitment and labor market trends in the maritime industry.
Additional Information Work is performed in active shipyard and shipboard environments supporting Navy and commercial repair operations. The role may require accessing vessels, industrial areas, and production work zones. PPE is required when entering shipyard or shipboard spaces in accordance with site safety policies. Reliable transportation is required to report to assigned shipyard or project locations. Work schedules may include overtime, nights, weekends, and variable shifts based on project or production requirements.
