POSITION SUMMARY:
TheHousekeeping/Janitorial Supervisor is responsiblefordirectly managing and ensuring timely completion ofthe janitorial operations of thejanitorial personnel. Specificresponsibilities include employeetraining and orientation of cleaning products, chemicals, equipment, inventory control, quality assurance, maintaining state and federal mandatedstandards ofsafety andresponding to customer complaints.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensures proper usageofsupplies and equipment through the training and development of employees.
• Teaches janitorial staffhow to safely operate andmaintain alltypes of cleaning machinery and equipment.
• Trains employees how tosafely use cleaning chemical and agents.
• Provides safeworking environment for employees.
• Responds to emergency situations in atimely and efficient manner.
• Resolves and follow-upon allcomplaints/issues.
• Conducts building inspections.
• Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and supervises allfunctions and activities ofthe custodial department.
• Oversees and evaluates performanceof the custodial operations.
• Maintains a safe and secureenvironment throughout thebuilding/property(s).
• Responsible for recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Supervises, trains and directs janitorial staffthrough work orders.
• On callavailability foremergenciesand projects as assigned by propertymanager.
• Schedules and assigns work responsibilities to employees to meet shift requirements.
• Follows safety procedures and maintains asafework environment.
• Ability to properly utilize new equipmentand follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment.
OPERATING SKILLS,KNOWLEDGE &ABILITIES: Education/Training:
• High school diplomaor equivalency preferred.
Experience/Knowledge:
• Mustpossess prior experiencein janitorial/custodial services. Two (2) to three(3) years of supervisory experiencepreferred.
Computerliteracy:
• Proficiency andworkingknowledgeof MicrosoftOfficeApplications preferred.
• Effectivewritten and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service,communication and interpersonal skills required.
SpecialRequirements:
• Ability to lift 50 – 100 lbs following appropriate safety procedures;
• Work in an uprightstanding position forlong periods of time(8-12 hours/day);
• Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain);
• Walk and climb stairs;
• Handle, finger, graspandfeel objectsand equipment;
• Reach with hands andarms;
• Communicate, receive and exchangeideas and information by means of thespoken and written word;
• Ability to quickly and easily navigatethe property/building as required to meet thejob functions;
• Ability to complete allrequired forms.
• Ability to work extended/flexiblehours and weekends based on project requirement.
• Driving when necessary.
• Ability to respond to emergencies onatimely manner.
• Climb ladders and workat heights aboveground level (maximum 3 ft).

Compensation: $23 per hour
