Job Title: House Manager & Family Assistant
Location: St. Louis, MO 63132
Employment Type: Part-time (25 - 30 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday - Friday 3pm - 8pm, with flexibility for additional hours and potential date night coverage
Compensation: $28–32/hour (based on experience)
Start Date: ASAP

We are a vibrant and active family with busy schedules, and our goal is to simplify our lives so we can spend more meaningful time together. We are looking for someone who can help manage our home and day-to-day tasks, allowing us to focus on what really matters—our family. We have two toddlers and an older child, and while we love spending time with them, it can be challenging to balance everything on top of our commitments. We're looking for a compassionate, proactive individual with experience working with children, who can step in to help with household management, meal prep, and childcare. This is an opportunity for someone who can grow into a role that supports both the children and the family as a whole, while creating a well-organized, stress-free environment that enables us to enjoy our time together.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For:

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and highly organized
  • Able to see tasks that need to be done and take ownership without needing constant direction
  • Able to work on a schedule during busy regimented childcare routines
  • Calm, patient, and able to work in a busy household
  • Comfortable with light childcare support and willing to take on occasional childcare responsibilities for toddlers
  • Flexible with working hours, open to potential date night coverage
  • Experience managing household systems and able to suggest and implement improvements
  • Strong communicator, able to coordinate with family members and other service providers
  • Patient and understanding of children's limited diets, with a willingness to support them in exploring new food options and broadening their tastes.

Key Responsibilities:

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Maintain household organization systems (closets, pantry, toys)
  • Reset and tidy rooms daily, including high-traffic areas
  • Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, décor)
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Support packing/unpacking for seasonal transitions
  • Water the outdoor potted plants daily when in season
  • Clean pool baskets, brush pool sides, run pool robot cleaner daily/as needed
  • Maintain and manage garage organization

Inventory & Errands

  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, and household supplies
  • Create and manage running household supply lists
  • Coordinate and manage household orders (Amazon, Target, etc.)
  • Run errands such as grocery shopping, returns, and dry cleaning

Meal Support

  • Plan and prep family-friendly dinners, ensuring meals are ready to heat up when parents arrive home
  • Shop for groceries and meal-related items
  • Enjoys cooking and adapting meals to accommodate dietary restrictions, while creatively introducing new food options to expand food preferences
  • Clean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidiness

Laundry & Linens

  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (clothing, bedding, towels)
  • Manage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, and restock essentials
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked

Pet Care

  • Walk and assist with the family dog daily

Family Support & Child Assistance

  • Assist in afterschool pickup for the oldest child
  • Assist with after school “reset” for oldest child
  • Assist in driving the oldest child to/from afterschool sports/activities
  • Occasional childcare support would be great
  • Interested in watching toddlers independently when needed

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Tackle occasional deep cleaning as needed (e.g., fridge, oven, baseboards)
  • Maintain high-traffic areas 
  • Organize special projects, including holiday gear rotation
