Mercyhealth System in Freeport, Illinois is currently seeking a Full-Time, Board-Certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician to join our experienced Hospitalist team at FHN Memorial Hospital.
We are specifically seeking a seasoned hospitalist who is comfortable managing a broad range of inpatient acuity and contributing to program quality and growth initiatives within a community-focused hospital environment.
Opportunity Overview:- Full-Time Position
- 7 on / 7 off Schedule
- 12-hour shifts
- 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (Day Shift)
- Night Shift opportunities available with premium compensation
- Includes weekends and holidays
- EMR transitioning to EPIC
- E-ICU support model currently in place, transitioning toward expanded in-house coverage
Hospitalists manage a wide range of inpatient cases including:
• Acute medical admissions
• Chronic disease exacerbations
• Post-surgical medical management
• Care coordination and discharge planning
• Collaboration with primary care and specialty providers
Strong system-wide collaboration across Mercyhealth's Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin network.
Required Qualifications:- MD/DO Board Certified (preferred) or Board Eligible
- Internal Medicine or Family Medicine training
- Eligible for Illinois medical licensure
- ACLS and BLS certification
- Demonstrated inpatient experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Day Shift Base Salary: $345,000
Night Shift: Premium compensation available
