Job Summary:
Position Summary:
A Home Health Aide (HHA) provides essential personal care and supportive services to patients in their homes. They assist individuals who are elderly, chronically ill, disabled, or recovering from surgery or illness, helping them maintain independence and a higher quality of life in a familiar environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care Assistance:
Help with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation.
Assist with feeding and ensuring proper hydration and nutrition.
Health Monitoring:
Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure).
Observe and report changes in the patients physical or emotional condition to a supervising nurse or physician.
Household Support:
Perform light housekeeping (laundry, bed making, cleaning).
Prepare meals according to dietary restrictions.
Companionship:
Offer emotional support, engage in conversation, and provide companionship to combat isolation and loneliness.
Medication Support:
Remind patients to take prescribed medications (note: actual administration is typically done by a licensed nurse).
Background requirements:
Candidates must pass a drug screen and background check. Convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis; convictions will not necessarily bar a candidate's employment.
