About the Role A law firm in the Galleria area is seeking a detail?oriented HOA Legal Assistant to support attorneys who work with Homeowners Associations. This position involves handling foreclosure?related tasks, collections, legal documentation, filings, and direct communication with homeowners and HOA boards.
Key Responsibilities Foreclosure & Collections Support Prepare and record liens, Notices of Default, and related foreclosure documents. Review, consolidate, and update delinquent homeowner ledgers; calculate late fees and interest. Draft and send demand letters; assist with HOA assessment collection processes.
Legal Document Preparation & Filing Prepare legal correspondence, contracts, leases, loan documents, and other legal filings. Submit electronic filings and recordings with courts and county offices. Organize case files, exhibits, trial binders, briefs, and supporting materials.
Research & Administrative Duties Conduct title searches and property research, including bankruptcy checks. Maintain and update firm databases, billing entries, and attorney calendars. Answer phones, respond to messages, and track legal deadlines.
Client & Homeowner Communication Communicate professionally with HOA board members, homeowners, property managers, and attorneys via phone and email. Provide updates, request documentation, and coordinate next steps in ongoing matters.
Qualifications Required
3+ years of legal assistant or legal administrative experience (HOA experience preferred). High school diploma required; college degree preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal billing/calendaring systems. Strong writing, communication, organizational skills, and high attention to detail.
Preferred Experience with HOA collections, foreclosure processing, and electronic filing systems. Ability to multitask in a fast?paced environment with a customer?service?oriented mindset.
Compensation & Work Environment Salary Range: $55,000$80,000 per year, depending on experience. Schedule: Full?time, in?office. Location: Galleria area of Houston.
