We are looking for a dynamic and passionate UX Designer who have a strong curiosity about people and technology. As a UX Designer on the Connected Technologies team, you will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Manager - UX Design, to maintain daily communication with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to understand business goals and translate those into design concepts and prototypes.
This position requires customer-focused thinking and the ability to be hands on. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is highly detail-oriented and take pride ad leadership in their deliverables.
What you’ll be doing:
- Collaborate across UX teams, product teams, product owners, and other groups to understand business requirements and propose innovative solutions that create customer value.
- Lead complex projects from beginning to end as a subject matter expert to align with stakeholders and ensure optimal UX with on-time delivery.
- Manage product delivery, including active mitigation of risks, status updates to various audiences, and facilitation of planning within the team development.
- Close collaboration with the engineering team to ensure that design concepts are feasible and implemented in a consistent manner with prototypes.
- Provide regular updates to management (up to VP) about status of projects and how voice of customer is being integrated continuously.
- Work closely with the in-house research team to ensure that UX is in line with customer expectations and exceeds industry standards.
What you bring:
- 5-10 years of experience in UX Design or a similar design field.
- Portfolio showcasing deep level UX and visual design mastery for real-world products.
- Demonstrate and be able to speak to your strong understanding of end-to-end design, including information architecture, usability testing, layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.
- Experience managing projects with limited oversight as an individual contributor across distributed teams.
- Quality delivery of end-to-end digital solutions. This means the responsibility of solving problems with chief product owners, product teams and other UX designers — using design thinking skills, research, and good design sense.
- An active role in mentoring other designers, leading design meetings and assisting other product teams when needed.
- Thorough, practical understanding of product design and design systems at scale.
- Excellent proficiency with modern, component driven design and prototyping tools.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including consultative, detail-oriented, analytical, verbal & written communication, strong relationship management, and ability to influence.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, high volume, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
- Drive as an independent, autonomous, creative thinker that can break out from conventional solutions.
- A high degree of intellectual curiosity, analytical thinking, energy, and drive to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Added bonus if you have:
- Experience creating prototypes using Protopie.
- Previous experience in development (HTML/CSS/JS, Swift, Android, Flutter)
- Experience with user-centered design process from concept development to launch.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
- Previous experience designing for automotive interfaces or applications.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in OrangePeople monthly team meetings, and participate in team-building efforts.
- Contribute to OrangePeople technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
- Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
- Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested.
