Summary: As directed by the Maintenance Manager and Supervisor, the Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for all procurement activities, parts inventory, goods receiving and coordination/supervision of outside contractors for the maintenance department. The job will also include stockroom maintenance and control, where duties will mainly consist of organizing the stockroom, controlling inventory, and ensuring stock levels are adequate. The purchaser will be responsible for their own personal objectives which support the department and factory vision, preventative practices, relationships with all departments, safety and levels of quality. The candidate must also have a solid background and understanding of mechanical and electrical components, as well as possessing mechanical aptitude.
Key / Daily Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships across varied internal functions as well as with external contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Audits of spare parts inventory, receive invoices, and process paperwork.
- Plan and purchase repair materials and spare parts inventory.
- Plan and purchase consumable inventory.
- Working with all maintenance team members to build sustainable improvements for parts rooms, processes, and methods.
- Ensure all parts and repair materials are purchased in a cost-effective manner within current company purchasing policies.
- Identify and bring forward improvement opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION / TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Microsoft Excel proficiency required.
- MMP certificate or financial management courses are an asset.
- Industry experience is an asset.
- Capital allocation \ budget management is an asset.
- ERP \ SAP working knowledge preferred.
- CMMS working knowledge preferred.
- Automotive, RV, Heavy Duty Equipment experience considered.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
SKILL SET
- High mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic parts used in industrial machinery.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Strong organizational, planning and time management skills
Safety:
- Promote safety and department EHS, including safety CAPAs.
- Ensures assigned safety tasks are completed by the target date
- Addresses asset safety concerns in sustained countermeasures in a timely manner
- Responsible to bring forward initiatives to improve/enhance asset safety
Continuous Improvement: Accountable to identify and bring forward improvement opportunities to the Maintenance Manager / Supervisor.
