Hematology/Oncology Physician

This critical role offers the opportunity to work in an ambulatory hematology setting, focusing on benign hematology, with a diverse patient population and collaborative healthcare team. Required Skills:
- Board Certification in Hematology and/or Oncology (single board certification acceptable; double board preferred)
- Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience in hematology and/or oncology
- Proficiency in outpatient clinic management, including follow-up and new patient consultations
- Ability to write medical orders and prescriptions, and communicate effectively with pharmacy teams
- Experience with EPIC EMR system (assessment required prior to start date)
- Current State of North Carolina medical license
- DEA certification and BLS certification
- Comfortable working in a general oncology role with focus on benign hematology
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience managing a variety of hematology and oncology cases, including mild fluctuations in patient volume
- Prior experience working within inpatient facilities or multidisciplinary teams
- Advanced skills in patient communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Proven track record with at least 2-3 years of relevant clinical practice in hematology/oncology
Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel for related assignments, including flight, rental car, and lodging arrangements
- Willingness to work day shifts (4x10-hour days, 07:00 - 16:00)
- Must pass the EPIC assessment prior to employment start
- Credentialing expected within 60-90 days
Compensation:
- Hourly Pay Rate: $507.00
- OT at 1.5x hourly rate after scheduled shift
- Holiday pay at 1.5x hourly rate on designated holidays including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
