Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support for IT hardware, software, and network issues across office and production environments.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems with manufacturing-specific equipment such as barcode scanners, label printers, and shop floor workstations.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Support manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) modules related to production operations.
- Manage user accounts and access rights for various IT systems, including those critical to manufacturing processes.
- Document technical solutions, troubleshooting steps, and create knowledge base articles to improve resolution times.
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to appropriate internal IT teams or external vendors.
Recommended Qualifications
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common hardware (desktops, laptops, printers).
- Experience supporting IT systems within a manufacturing or industrial environment, understanding production uptime criticality.
- Familiarity with manufacturing-specific hardware (e.g., barcode scanners, label printers, ruggedized devices) and common ERP/MES systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Basic understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi) and Active Directory for user and computer management.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Familiarity with shop floor technologies such as barcode scanners, label printers, or mobile data terminals.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Understanding of the critical impact of IT issues on production uptime and schedules.
