The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Hudsonville seeking Help Desk Technicians who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues for office and factory floor users, including hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Provide first-level support for manufacturing-specific systems such as industrial PCs, barcode scanners, label printers, and production line terminals.
  • Respond to and prioritize service requests and incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to production operations.
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations, mobile devices, and peripherals across the facility.
  • Document all support activities, resolutions, and create knowledge base articles for common manufacturing IT issues.
  • Assist with the deployment and setup of new manufacturing IT equipment and software applications.
  • Perform routine checks and preventative maintenance on shop floor IT infrastructure to ensure reliability.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common desktop hardware.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing-specific hardware such as barcode scanners, label printers, and basic user support for MES/ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi) and utilize IT ticketing systems.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a focus on customer service in a production environment.
  • A+ certification or equivalent practical experience in an IT support role.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience supporting ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or MES applications.
  • Familiarity with industrial control systems (e.g., PLCs, SCADA) or shop floor IT.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
  • Experience with ruggedized hardware or mobile devices used in industrial settings.
