The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support for IT hardware, software, and network issues impacting manufacturing operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to specialized production equipment, shop floor devices, and industrial PCs.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access to manufacturing execution systems (MES) and other critical applications.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and backups for workstations and servers supporting production.
  • Document technical solutions, create knowledge base articles, and maintain IT asset inventory for manufacturing assets.
  • Respond to and resolve urgent IT incidents to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency in a production environment.
  • Assist with the deployment, configuration, and setup of new hardware and software for manufacturing facilities.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an IT support role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365 suite, and common business applications (e.g., ERP, MES).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service and user support.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues related to specialized manufacturing equipment or plant floor systems.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP or Oracle.
  • Familiarity with industrial hardware such as barcode scanners, label printers, or shop floor terminals.
  • Understanding of IT/OT (Operational Technology) convergence concepts in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience working in a production or factory setting.
  • Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation or data analysis.
