The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues for office and shop floor users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with manufacturing-specific systems, including production line PCs, barcode scanners, and label printers.
  • Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of workstations, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions in line with company security policies.
  • Document all support requests, resolutions, and relevant system information accurately in the ticketing system.
  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting to ensure connectivity for critical production systems.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to appropriate senior IT staff or third-party vendors in a timely manner.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common business applications.
  • Experience supporting IT hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, and manufacturing-specific peripherals (e.g., barcode scanners, label printers).
  • Basic understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi) and Active Directory user management.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments and an understanding of operational technology (OT) considerations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service and problem resolution.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience supporting manufacturing-specific software (e.g., ERP, MES, SCADA).
  • Familiarity with industrial network protocols or shop floor hardware (e.g., barcode scanners, label printers).
  • Understanding of IT/OT (Information Technology/Operational Technology) convergence concepts.
  • Prior experience in a regulated or safety-conscious industrial environment.
