The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with specialized manufacturing systems, including MES, SCADA, and HMI.
  • Support and maintain shop floor IT equipment such as industrial PCs, barcode scanners, and label printers.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access for production applications and general IT systems.
  • Document all incidents, resolutions, and create knowledge base articles to improve support efficiency and reduce production downtime.
  • Escalate complex or critical IT issues to senior staff or vendors, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on IT infrastructure and shop floor equipment to proactively address potential issues.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in an IT Help Desk or technical support role.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of PC hardware, peripherals, and basic network connectivity (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi).
  • Experience supporting specialized manufacturing software (e.g., ERP, MES, SCADA systems).
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with industrial hardware (e.g., barcode scanners, label printers, shop floor terminals).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on minimizing production downtime.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
  • Familiarity with industrial hardware such as ruggedized PCs, barcode scanners, and label printers.
  • Basic understanding of Operational Technology (OT) environments or IT/OT convergence.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software troubleshooting.
