Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support for IT hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with manufacturing execution systems (MES), industrial PCs, and shop floor equipment.
  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations, printers, and specialized production devices (e.g., barcode scanners, label printers).
  • Document all support requests, resolutions, and update knowledge base articles.
  • Assist with user account management, access permissions, and security policy enforcement.
  • Perform routine system checks and preventative maintenance to minimize production downtime.
  • Escalate complex or critical issues to appropriate IT teams or external vendors.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common hardware (desktops, laptops, printers).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service focus.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi) and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an IT help desk or technical support role, or relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+).

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience supporting manufacturing-specific applications (e.g., ERP, MES, SCADA, PLCs).
  • Familiarity with industrial networking protocols and hardware.
  • Understanding of IT support needs within a production or shop floor environment.
  • Experience with ruggedized hardware or mobile devices used in industrial settings.
