Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues for office staff and shop floor personnel, including hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Provide support for manufacturing-specific applications and equipment, such as MES systems, industrial PCs, barcode scanners, and production line terminals.
- Perform hardware setup, configuration, and maintenance for workstations, printers, and specialized shop floor devices.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and password resets across various IT systems, including Active Directory and manufacturing application logins.
- Document all support interactions, resolutions, and create knowledge base articles for common manufacturing IT problems.
- Assist with network connectivity issues impacting production systems and office operations.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on IT equipment to minimize downtime on the production floor.
Recommended Qualifications
- Experience supporting IT systems common in manufacturing environments (e.g., ERP, MES, shop floor devices).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows OS, Microsoft 365 suite, and standard hardware issues.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, able to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN, Wi-Fi) and connectivity issues.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic, production-focused setting.
Bonus Qualifications
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Experience supporting industrial hardware (e.g., barcode scanners, label printers, shop floor terminals).
- Understanding of IT safety protocols relevant to a manufacturing environment (e.g., LOTO awareness).
- Experience with mobile device management (MDM) for ruggedized industrial devices.
