Key Responsibilities:
- Operating heavy equipment: Equipment includes, but is not limited to, excavators, loaders, graders, scraper, skid-steers and compactor sheep's foot. (Experience not required in running all equipment). Ability to read grade is preferred.
- Maintaining and repairing equipment: Performing routine maintenance checks and reporting major issues to supervisors.
- Following safety procedures: Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
- Communicating and collaborating: Working effectively with other team members and communicating clearly about project progress
- Operating in various environments: Operating equipment in different weather conditions and terrains.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience operating a variety of heavy equipment. (Job site skills test required at job interview).
- Mechanical aptitude: Understanding of basic mechanical principles and ability to perform routine maintenance.
- Physical strength and stamina: The ability to lift and carry materials, stand for extended periods, and work in various positions.
- Safety awareness: Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
- Communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Attention to detail: Ability to pay close attention to equipment gauges, warning lights, and other indicators.
- Valid driver's license: A valid driver license required and verified during the hiring process. A clean driving record is preferred but not mandatory.
