Nucor Corporation is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator in Cincinnati, OH (Onsite, Full-Time). This role is responsible for safely operating mobile heavy equipment in a scrap yard environment while supporting production, customer service, and yard operations. The top three requirements for this position are 2–3 years of experience operating a front-end loader or scrap handler (grapple or magnet), knowledge of heavy equipment operating principles, and the ability to work safely in an industrial outdoor environment.

Job Requirements:
• 2–3 years of experience operating a front-end loader or scrap handler (grapple or magnet) in an industrial/outdoor environment
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operating principles
• Ability to operate equipment under varying working conditions
• Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations
• Ability to properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
• Reliable attendance with dependability and consistency
• Ability to communicate effectively and coordinate work activities within a team
• Mechanical background preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to initiating, leading, and upholding safety policies and housekeeping standards
Job Duties:
• Operate mobile heavy equipment including front-end loaders, skid steers, grapple and magnet material handlers
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report defects or repair needs
• Clean and maintain equipment as needed
• Communicate over radio with team members for traffic coordination, production updates, and safety procedures
• Greet customers entering the yard and direct them to proper unloading locations
• Inspect inbound materials for prohibited items such as propane tanks and batteries
• Ensure non-acceptable materials are not left on company property
• Interact with customers and teammates to maintain a safe and productive yard environment
• Adhere strictly to company and OSHA safety standards at all times
