Job Details

As a Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic, you’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and support vehicles to keep field operations running safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in clean work, accurate troubleshooting, and getting machines back to production.

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
  • 3+ years of experience as a mechanic working on heavy construction equipment (or comparable fleet)
  • Strong troubleshooting ability across hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems
  • Comfort working with service manuals, wiring diagrams, and OEM procedures
  • Welding/fabrication experience is a plus (not required)
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to work safely around heavy machinery
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and able to prioritize repairs in a fast-moving environment

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services (fluids, filters, inspections, adjustments)
  • Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical, powertrain, and undercarriage
  • Diagnose issues using gauges, scan/diagnostic tools, and manufacturer service information
  • Complete repairs in the shop and/or in the field (as needed) to minimize downtime
  • Inspect equipment pre/post repair; test run and verify proper operation and safety
  • Document work completed, parts used, and recommendations for upcoming repairs
  • Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and jobsite/shop protocols
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors/foremen on repair status, parts needs, and ETAs
