We are seeking a dynamic and highly-skilled individual to join our team as a Consulting Healthcare Administrative Coordinator. This role is pivotal in coordinating patient flow throughout the clinic, from registration to discharge. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing prior authorizations, referrals, and completing surgery scheduling tasks. They will also play a crucial part in managing and optimizing the physicians’ clinic appointments and surgery schedules, ensuring all necessary material is obtained for a smooth consultation for both the patient and provider.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient flow throughout the clinic, ensuring smooth transition from registration to discharge.
- Process prior authorizations and referrals in a timely and efficient manner.
- Complete surgery scheduling tasks, ensuring all necessary material is obtained for smooth patient consultation.
- Manage and optimize the physicians’ clinic appointments and surgery schedules.
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with Faculty, Staff, Administration, and patients.
- Skillfully use equipment, software, and tools required to perform job responsibilities.
- Prioritize assignments and demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
- Understand and navigate the authorization process and managed care programs.
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology in daily tasks.
Qualifications:
- Must possess at least 6 months of experience in a hospital/clinical setting.
- Demonstrated skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
- Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with individuals from various social, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situations.
- Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of health.
- Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment.
- Familiarity and knowledge of the authorization process and managed care programs.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
- Knowledge of major medical insurance plans and types of coverage provided is preferred.
- Working knowledge of CareConnect system to complete on-line transactions, including appointment scheduling, procedure scheduling, encounter registration system, completing referrals, inputting authorizations, hospital lab results and medical reports is preferred.
- Must have 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
