Job Title: Hardware Testing Engineer (Board Validation Specialized) (Contract)
Number of Openings: Multiple
Location: Santa Clara, CA - Onsite, 5 days/week
Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension)
Shift / Schedule: Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed

About the Role
We are seeking multiple Hardware Testing Engineers (Board Validation Specialized) to support hands-on validation and debugging of server and development platforms in a fast-paced lab environment. This role involves system assembly, hardware testing, signal measurement, and lab operations support for advanced computing platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, build, and install bench-top development platforms and large server systems
Prepare circuit boards for detailed solder rework (performed by specialized lab staff)
Connect oscilloscope probes and collect signal waveform data
Perform mechanical rework using power tools (e.g., Dremel)
Execute system tests and validation procedures; collect, analyze, and report test results
Screen modules and boards during validation and debug cycles
Support lab shipping and receiving, including equipment and material inventory tracking
Maintain lab organization and continuously improve lab processes and efficiency
Required Qualifications
Diploma/Certification, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
2+ years of experience in an electronics or hardware testing lab, including:
•Silicon bring-up
•Board-level validation
•System-level validation or debug
Exposure to High speed, like PCIe
Worked in PCIE validation
Experience in Power Validation
Advanced EE skills required
Board level debug
Requirement to perform Low Speed IO/Power Seq validation task, able to use standard lab tools (oscilloscopes/multi-meter) able to read and understand schematics/and board file
Probing signals with oscilloscope (can do at least one: GPIO, I2C, I3C, or SPI)
Executing developed functional tests and providing results
Performing firmware/software update based on provided SOP
Task driven and diligent
Fundamental knowledge of computer architecture and hardware/software debugging
Experience using Linux command line tools
Strong system-level debugging skills and familiarity with board bring-up processes
High attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with BMC and server management processors
Basic networking knowledge and server maintenance experience
Ability to perform simple solder rework
Experience setting up lab test equipment and using oscilloscopes for signal measurement
Ability to read and follow hardware schematics
Experience with x86 and/or ARM architectures
Familiarity with GPU-accelerated computing platforms
