Job Title: Hadoop developer

Location: Addison, TX
Work Arrangement: Hybrid 
Client Industry: Financial Services
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Schedule: Standard time ( 8 AM to 5 PM CT)

Day To Day Responsbilities:

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, clarify, and validate business and technical requirements.

• Solution Development: Design, build, and implement robust data solutions that align with governance standards and business objectives.

• Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance of data solutions.

• Risk Management: Address data governance and management risks throughout the development lifecycle.

Day to Day:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and validate business and technical requirements

• Design and develop governed data solutions aligned to business objectives

• Perform testing and quality assurance to ensure performance, accuracy, and reliability

• Address data governance and management risks throughout the lifecycle

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives

• Provide regular progress updates to the Product Owner and team

• Perform data mapping, lineage documentation, and performance tuning (especially long-running Hadoop queries)

Must Have:

• Strong Hadoop cluster familiarity (troubleshooting + performance tuning)

• Proven experience digging into Hadoop data

• Excellent HQL skills

• Strong knowledge of Spark and PySpark, Hive/Impala

• Experience with database/table design

• Job scheduling experience (e.g., Autosys)

• Experience executing data mapping and lineage strategy

• ETL, data quality, and data integration experience (Informatica and/or DataStage)

• SQL, Shell scripting, and data analysis skills

• Strong debugging and analytical problem-solving skills

• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Nice To Have:

• Oracle background

• Banking / Financial Services experience

• Experience supporting regulatory reporting data

• Experience with high level programming languages (Python, Java, etc) Agile exposure

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $60 - 65 per hour
  This reflects base compensation and may vary based on candidate qualifications.
