Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Grounds Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and maintenance of landscaped areas and public spaces. This role is responsible for performing routine landscaping duties, maintaining equipment, and ensuring outdoor areas are clean, safe, and visually maintained.

The Grounds Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of physical tasks including lawn care, plant maintenance, irrigation support, and debris removal. This position requires the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and operate landscaping equipment safely and effectively. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or related outdoor maintenance work
• Experience operating commercial landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, edgers, and blowers
• Experience performing routine grounds maintenance including planting, pruning, trimming, and irrigation support
• Experience identifying plant health issues such as pests, disease, or damage
• Experience performing basic equipment maintenance and upkeep
• Ability to follow safety procedures and operational guidelines
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Basic computer skills for reporting and communication
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to analyze problems and implement effective solutions

Experience Preferences

• Experience working in municipal, commercial, or large-scale landscaping environments
• Familiarity with irrigation systems, including setup, adjustment, and repair
• Experience handling fertilizers, pesticides, and other landscaping chemicals
• Knowledge of Florida plant life, climate conditions, and seasonal maintenance practices

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds or more as needed
• Ability to perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, and reaching
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and exposure to dust and noise

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Education Preferences

• Additional training or certifications in landscaping, horticulture, or irrigation systems
