GROUNDSKEEPER / MAINTENANCE / LABORER ASSISTANT

Caseyville Township is accepting applications for:

Groundskeeper / Maintenance / Laborer Assistant (Union Position).

Caseyville Township covers approximately 35.1 square miles and serves a population of more than 35,000 residents, including portions of Caseyville, Fairview Heights, Shiloh, O’Fallon, Collinsville, and Swansea. The Township is located approximately 15 minutes from St. Louis, Missouri, within a metropolitan area of 2.8 million people.

This position assists in maintaining and expanding Township park grounds, including athletic fields, easements, and other Township-owned properties.

Position Responsibilities:

Grounds & Landscaping

· Maintain grass, shrubs, trees, and landscaped areas

· Snow removal operations

· Maintain, repair, design, and prepare baseball fields and related facilities

· Perform general park and property upkeep

Maintenance & Facilities

· Perform repairs on electrical and plumbing systems

· Maintain and repair interior and exterior building components

· General commercial building maintenance

· Custodial duties

· Event setup and teardown

Equipment Operation

o Operate and maintain equipment including (but not limited to):

o Trucks

o Lawn equipment

o Utility vehicles (Gators)

o Tractors

o Other grounds and maintenance equipment

Knowledge & Experience:

Required Experience

· Athletic field maintenance

· Landscaping and snow removal

· General building maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

· Small engine repair

· Snow plow experience

· Skid steer operation

· Backhoe operation

· Dump truck operation

· Must reside within 20 minutes of the Township Office:

· Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional holidays

· Must be capable of performing physical outdoor labor in varying weather conditions
