Position Summary:
The Grant Writer/Fund Development Specialist plays a vital role in advancing our mission by securing institutional funding and supporting broader fundraising efforts. This part-time position is responsible for researching, writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals while cultivating and stewarding relationships with funders. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, highly organized, and motivated by measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources
- Write, submit, and track grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and required reports
- Collaborate with program and leadership staff to gather program data, outcomes, and narratives
- Maintain a grants calendar to ensure timely submissions and reporting deadlines
- Track funding outcomes and maintain accurate records in donor and grant management systems
- Support broader fund development efforts, including donor communications and fundraising campaigns as needed
- Assist with stewardship activities such as funder acknowledgments and impact updates
- Produce high-quality, competitive proposals with achievement benchmarks to be established

- Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with donor databases or grant management systems preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in nonprofit fund development or grant writing.
- Familiarity with foundation and government funding processes.
- Knowledge of nonprofit compliance and reporting requirements.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Ability to pass a background check.
