Grant Writer – Onsite| Southwest Michigan | $62,000–$80,000

A respected, mission-focused organization in Southwest Michigan is seeking a skilled Grant Writer to support its fundraising and strategic growth efforts. This role will be instrumental in securing funding by identifying, developing, and managing grant opportunities that align with organizational priorities and long-term initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, evaluate, and pursue grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporate funders.

• Prepare, write, edit, and submit approximately 30 high-quality grant proposals annually, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with funder guidelines.

• Craft compelling narratives and assemble supporting documentation to clearly communicate program impact and funding needs.

• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather data, budgets, and program details required for competitive submissions.

• Track grant activity and present funding opportunities, submissions, and outcomes to leadership for review and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of professional grant writing experience, ideally within a nonprofit, education, or mission-driven organization.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with grant management systems is preferred.
