Our client is seeking an experienced Grant Accountant that will support all accounting, compliance, and reporting activities related to government‑funded grants. This role ensures accurate financial tracking, documentation, and reporting for active grants, while partnering closely with internal teams to maintain compliance with federal, state, and agency requirements.

Requirements:
- Maintain accurate financial records for all government grants, including tracking expenditures, obligations, and reimbursements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual grant financial reports in accordance with federal and state requirements.
- Review grant budgets, spending patterns, and allowable costs to ensure compliance with grant terms and regulations.
- Reconcile grant accounts, including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and cost allocations.
- Support audit activities, including documentation requests, schedules, and compliance reviews.
- Monitor grant drawdowns, reimbursement requests, and cash flow related to grant funding.
- Ensure proper documentation and retention of all grant‑related financial records.
- Collaborate with program, finance, and leadership teams to ensure accurate reporting and timely submissions.
- Assist with grant closeout processes, including final reporting and reconciliation.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong reconciliation, documentation, and audit‑support skills.
- Experience in grant accounting, government grants, or fund accounting.
- Strong understanding of allowable vs. unallowable costs, federal compliance standards, and grant reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with accounting systems (client did not specify a system, so we keep this general)
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain accuracy across multiple grants.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
- 3+ years of grant accounting, fund accounting, or government grant compliance experience.
