Graduate Rotation Program
We take great pride in the development and offerings included in our Graduate Rotation Program. Our Graduate Rotation Program consists of 2 one-year rotations within different departments of NRG. The Graduate Rotation Program is focused on developing the future leaders of our business. The program provides the opportunity to work in two different roles across the business, while benefiting from a wide support network of colleagues, a direct line manager and the Talent Development Team. Our aim is to help you build your strengths and gain skills that can be used as your career progresses. Our Graduate Rotation Program will appeal to self-motivated, graduating seniors with a proactive, can-do attitude, and a genuine desire to learn about our business and the energy industry.
Graduate Rotational Analysts will be involved with various types of projects based on the requirements from our business at the time. These projects include tackling everything from improving our understanding of market behaviors and economics to assessing the commercial implications of energy deregulation. Add in the opportunity to assess major risk, analyze customer behaviors and conduct competitor reviews. You’ll see that the Graduate Rotation Program is an opportunity to influence the heart of our business.
The first year of your rotation will be in one of our core business departments as you build your foundational knowledge. Thereafter, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job experience and contribute to collaborative, cross-functional projects that are meaningful to the success of various facets of the business. As a Graduate Rotation Analyst, you will perform the same tasks as our entry level Analysts and have an opportunity to learn the methods, tasks, and objectives each of these groups complete in their day-to-day support of NRG’s operations and business strategy.
Rotation 1
Conduct a comprehensive audit of current 3PL performance by analyzing safety records, delivery tracking accuracy, and adherence to "critical shipment" timelines to establish a baseline for program efficiency.
• Develop a "bottoms-up" operational model that compares the cost and reliability of insourced logistics functions against those currently outsourced to third parties or embedded in parts supplier contracts.
• Evaluate the strategic effectiveness of the existing UPS contract and heavy haul shipment protocols to identify specific opportunities for cost savings and improved service levels.
• Construct a "top-down" strategic framework that aligns logistics KPIs with the company’s broader supply chain goals, ensuring high-voltage equipment and critical components move through the network with zero safety incidents.
• Formulate evidence-based recommendations for rebalancing the logistics portfolio, specifically addressing whether to migrate certain outsourced tasks back in-house to gain better control over the power plant supply chain.
