Job Description

The University of Indianapolis is looking for an energetic and driven Graduate
Assistant to support the broadcasting efforts and communications office within the Athletics Department. The successful candidate will manage the streaming efforts of a top-tier NCAA Division II athletics department. In addition to serving as the primary play-by-play announcer for various sports, the position will include recruiting and leading a group of undergraduates to serve as the video production crew. The position may also entail other duties as assigned, providing support for other Athletics Communications tasks, potentially including, but not limited to writing, content creation and media relations.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary play-by-play announcer for various sports
Recruit, train, and lead a team of student assistants to serve as the production crew.
Provide support for story writing for the website.
Provide support for content creation for the department.
Serve as the media relations point of contact as assigned.

Experience
Previous experience in athletic administration, marketing, communications, event management, or related fields is preferred.
Play-by-Play Experience is preferred
Familiarity with Production Truck is preferred

Education:
Bachelor’s degree required
Acceptance into a UIndy graduate program required
 

Skills & Abilities:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, StatCrew, NCAA LiveStats, and/or social media platforms preferred (based on area)
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license
Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as required
