Job Description
A. BASIC FUNCTIONS
Responsible for the set-up and continuous operation of the processing machine. The Grade Operator is to balance and control the machine to maximize high outputs of cases per hour while controlling the percent of Grade A loss to a minimum standard set by Sauder’s expectations.
B. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Essential Functions
- Set up packing lanes with assigned cartons or flats, adjust as needed.
- Enter in all the information for each lot and communicate all changes to plant personnel.
- Ensure proper and legible codes, dates and ID's on all cartons and eggs.
- Follow production schedule to ensure all orders are completed.
- Communicate changeovers to the production team promptly to ensure a smooth and efficient changeover.
- Monitor scale settings and line speed to minimize egg losses.
- Notify maintenance immediately when experiencing issues that are affecting production.
- Maintain a well-balanced machine by assigning the proper amount of packing lanes to handle the orders.
- Review completions against orders to make sure they are completed.
- Print all tabulation reports and end of shift reports.
- Complete daily reporting and note issues effecting production.
- Must participate in all production and pre-shift meetings.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Secondary Functions
- Reconcile any report discrepancies
- Monitor Production/QC screen to establish current production against historical data.

- Basic computer and math skills
- Good communication and people skills
- Ability to multitask
- Organized with attention to detail
- Ability to focus and regain control during stressful situations.
D. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand for the length of the shift.
Should be able to occasionally lift 30-40 lbs.
E. SCHEDULE
- Monday thru Friday 6:00 am to 3:30 pm or when work is complete.
- Overtime may be required based on production.
F. MISC
1. Non-slip steel-toed boots required
2. Hairnet when required
