This position is assigned to the Policy and Planning Division, Office of Management Services, Office of the Executive Director, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Department of State (DS/MGT/PPD). In this position you will serve as a liaison between Diplomatic Security (DS) program offices and coordinating searches for responsive records across DS systems, provides expert guidance on law enforcement sensitivities and applicable exemptions.
Major Duties: Who May Apply: Job Status: Duration Appointment: This is a non-status, non-permanent Personal Service Contract (PSC) position. PSCs do not acquire a competitive or excepted service status from this position. Contract is 1 year; renewable up to 4 years. Conditions of Employment: Education:Education requirements do not apply to this vacancy announcement.
Requirements: Qualifications:Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience developing, implementing and managing a Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act (FOIA & PA) program;
- Experience writing FOIA and PA related correspondence, denial letters, amendments, affidavits, appeal justifications and other legal documentation;
- Experience coordinating and negotiating FOIA related issues.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
