Description

Job Overview: 

This position prepares and maintains golf course greens, fairways, and other golf course surfaces as required, ensuring compliance with all golfing regulations and standards. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates a variety of equipment. 
  • Operates utility vehicles and small trucks. 
  • Monitor property grounds to ensure a pleasant appearance. 
  • Maintain lawns by mowing, edging, raking leaves, and performing other lawn maintenance functions. 
  • Wash, clean, and re-fuel all equipment after use. Maintain flower beds, baskets, and boxes by watering, removing weeds, trimming, and performing other maintenance. 
  • Must be able to work in outdoor conditions while operating golf course maintenance equipment including: mowing, ranking bunkers, weed eating, edging, and other landscape maintenance tasks. 
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned. 
  • Maintain valid Florida Driver’s License 

 

Additional Duties: 

  • Operates triplex style riding mowers to maintain tees, greens, collars and approaches. 
  • Mows Bahia and rough areas throughout course using rough mowers. 
  • Perform all cup cutter duties; cut cups, move tee markers, clean restrooms, remove trash, change coolers. 
  • Takes control of the bunker crew, instructs in proper maintenance- raking, edging, mowing, washout repairs 
  • Grease and make minor adjustments to all assigned equipment. 
  • Clean equipment daily and assist in cleaning the maintenance facility areas. 
  • Reports all equipment problems or failures to the equipment technician. 
  • Practice facility maintenance including- mowing, topdressing divots, weed eating and other duties. 
  • Wear all required safety equipment as designated by supervisor and safety officer. 
  • Must be able to work independently and be a self-starting problem solver. 
  • Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards. 
  • Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct. 
  • Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies. 
  • May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines. 
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work. 
  • Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management. 
  • Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned. 

 

Education & Experience: 

  • Prior landscape maintenance or golf course maintenance experience (plus but not required) 
  • Possess a general understanding of golf course maintenance experience (plus but not required) 
  • Valid Driver's License (Required) 
  • Have reliable transportation and be on time for work. 
  • Ability to complete tasks on time and in coordination with other crew members and their tasks. 
  • Follow instructions and directions set forth by the Superintendent. 
  • Grounds Maintenance & Landscaping Occupations: 1 year (Required)

Hours over and above normal office hours will occur, including evenings, holidays, and some weekends. Schedule is subject to change based on business needs.  

  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, crawl, and walk.  
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.  
  • The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 
  • Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions – rain and summer heat 

 

Compensation: $18.00-$18.25 hourly; paid bi-weekly

Schedule:Monday-Friday (5:00AM-1:30PM)
