Job Description: Global Entertainment Booking Agent & Talent Manager
| Job Title: | Global Entertainment Booking Agent & Talent Manager |
| Agency Division: | The Ubella Models & Talent Agency / OpMg Models & Talent Agency (Dual Role) |
| Location: | Remote (U.S. & Worldwide Focus) |
| Reports To: | Lydell Michaels, Owner/CEO |
Summary
The Global Entertainment Booking Agent & Talent Manager is a critical, multi-faceted role responsible for identifying, recruiting, developing, and securing paid assignments for our diverse roster of models, actors, entertainers, and independent musicians across worldwide markets. Reporting directly to Owner/CEO Lydell Michaels, this role requires a blend of sharp business acumen, exceptional cross-cultural negotiation skills, talent development expertise, and deep global industry connections in the fashion, entertainment, and music sectors across the exclusive (Ubella) and non-exclusive (OpMg) divisions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Global Booking & Revenue Generation (Agent Focus)
- Securing Global Engagements: Proactively seek, pitch, and negotiate bookings, assignments, and contracts for all represented talent, focusing on international campaigns, luxury projects, and global brand partnerships for Ubella talent, and a broad range of commercial/event/licensing opportunities for OpMg talent across the U.S. and worldwide.
- International Coordination: Manage submissions and logistics across multiple time zones, ensuring rapid, professional communication with clients (casting directors, creative agencies, event organizers, music supervisors, etc.) in various countries.
- Contract Negotiation & Compliance: Negotiate favorable booking rates and terms in multiple currencies, and manage complex schedules and logistics (including international travel and compliance).
- Financial Administration: Ensure accurate invoicing and track client payments from global sources, coordinating with the agency’s finance team to guarantee timely and transparent payment to the talent (commission is 15% to 30% as per contract structure).
2. Talent Scouting & Development (Talent Finder Focus)
- Worldwide Recruitment: Actively scout and identify new talent from the U.S. and international markets that aligns with the agency’s dual vision, targeting both elite, high-potential models/talent for Ubella and versatile, independent artists (including musicians) for OpMg.
- Remote Onboarding: Conduct effective virtual interviews and guide potential talent through the agency’s agreement process, clearly communicating the differences between the Ubella Exclusive and OpMg Non-Exclusive global paths.
- Portfolio/Demo Development: Advise talent on necessary materials to enhance their market readiness in diverse global markets, securing written approval for any advanced marketing expenses over $$100.00 before they are incurred.
3. Talent Management & Relations (Manager Focus)
- Cross-Cultural Strategy: Develop and execute bespoke, globally-aware career strategies, identifying market-specific opportunities to maximize talent exposure in key territories.
- Performance & Conduct: Ensure talent adheres to the high professional conduct standards of the agency, fulfilling all contractual obligations across international assignments.
- IP & Confidentiality: Uphold the agency’s commitment to talent confidentiality and intellectual property rights, ensuring proper usage of promotional materials (the “Materials”) while respecting varying international IP laws.
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Booking Agent, Talent Scout, or Manager with a proven track record of securing international bookings in the fashion, entertainment, music, or modeling industry.
- Global Industry Knowledge: Deep, current understanding of industry trends, standard practices, and market rates in major global markets (U.S., Europe, Asia).
- Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of successful cross-cultural contract negotiation.
- Contract Acumen: Strong familiarity with standard entertainment and modeling contracts, understanding of the Independent Contractor status, and ability to navigate international payment and tax logistics.
- Work Ethic: Highly organized, proactive, self-motivated, and capable of operating effectively and autonomously from a remote setting.
Preferred
- Established network of professional contacts within key international markets (e.g., London, Paris, Tokyo, LA, NYC).
- Experience managing independent musicians or artists with a focus on global music distribution/licensing.
- Proficiency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, French, Mandarin).
Compensation
This role begins as a high-potential, performance-based Independent Contractor position.
- Commission: Competitive commission structure on all bookings secured (15% to 30% of gross revenue).
- Reimbursement: Reimbursement for pre-approved business expenses, including necessary travel for international market development.
- Transition Potential: Outstanding performance and dedication may lead to a transition into a salaried employee role under a new, updated agreement.
