- This is a hybrid role blending technical geotechnical engineering, field oversight, and business development.
- Lead and support geotechnical engineering tasks for municipal, water/wastewater, transportation, and infrastructure projects
- Conduct and manage geotechnical field inspections and subsurface investigations
- Develop geotechnical engineering reports, subsurface data evaluations, and baseline documents
- Support large, complex programs involving tunnels, deep excavations, water delivery systems, and heavy civil construction
- Collaborate with engineering consultants across the region
Business Development / Seller Doer Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with municipal agencies, utilities, and engineering consultants
- Identify early project opportunities and position the firm for teaming roles
- Participate in proposals, scoping, and go/no go decisions
- Represent the firm at industry meetings and events
- Contribute strategically to the growth of the Nashville market
Required
- Solid background in geotechnical engineering or geotechnical field services
- Experience with municipal or infrastructure focused projects
- Interest in business development as part of the everyday role
- Strong communication and project management skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to gain it
- Experience with tunnelling, dams/levees, deep utilities, or major water/wastewater programs
- Existing relationships with local or regional engineering consultants
- A responsive, client focused engineer
- Someone collaborative and team oriented
- A self starter who likes both technical and client facing work
- Strong workload and backlog - the firm is deeply involved in large scale regional infrastructure programs
