Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst (VA, Alexandria)

Savvee Inc. is seeking to hire a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst to support our government client in Alexandria, VA. Candidates must hold and ACTIVE secret clearance and be willing to work onsite. In order to be successful in this role, candidates must be self-starters, detail oriented, and have familiarity with geographic applications. 

Essential Functions

• Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting geographic information provided by geometric surveys, aerial photos, and satellite data
• Researching, studying, and preparing maps and other spatial data in digital or graphic form for legal, social, political, educational, and design purposes
• Improving the GIS by designing and evaluating algorithms, data structures, and user interfaces for GIS and mapping systems
• Maintaining situational awareness of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) related events, incidents, and threats
• Maintaining the ArcGIS database to ensure data layers are updated
• Developing executive-level reports and other products
• Briefing senior leadership as needed
• Providing support outside of standard business hours as needed in support of the Watch
• Understanding the organizational policies and procedures for accuracy of solutions and deliverables to client
• Demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer support
