JOB TITLE: Ranch Worker REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years old and able to lift up to 75lbs. Must have at least 3 months work experience working with livestock and be able to provide (1) reference from previous employer, with knowledge of employee's skills. Must be able to ride horses and/or ATV in order to move the livestock safely. Must have knowledge of repair of fences for the safety of animals, irrigation knowledge and management, planting, cultivating, and harvesting hay for livestock. Workers must be willing and able to perform all duties according to the employer's requirements during the contract period. Workers will be expected to work in conditions normally associated with Colorado climatic conditions. Workers will be exposed to extreme temperatures and be required to perform extensive pushing or pulling; extensive sitting or walking and Repetitive movement such as frequent stooping or bending over. A signed contract between the Employer and Worker may be required. JOB DESCRIPTION: All job duties are closely and directly related to the production of livestock and any combination of the following tasks will be performed, to include: Attend to livestock feeds and waters livestock by tractor and/or team on range or at ranch headquarters. Calving, maintaining cattle herd health. Repairs and cleans corrals. Wean calves, vaccinations and pregnancy check cows. Moves livestock to pasture for grazing. Assist with castration of livestock, and identification marking. Maintain all corrals, cabins, buildings, range improvements, and livestock equipment used for proper cattle management. Cleans livestock stalls and sheds, using disinfectant solutions, brushes and shovels. Maintain ranch buildings. Maintain equipment in a working condition and observe safe practices. Assist with the shipping of cows and calves. Work tools, supplies and equipment will be provided at no cost to the worker. Transportation & subsistence expenses to worksite provided by Employer or paid by employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract. ANTICIPATED HOURS OF WORK PER WEEK: Forty-eight (48) hours per week. Monday through Saturday (Eight (8) hours per day) 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Three-quarter time guarantee. Longer hours (night shifts during calving) and more days (up to 7 days per week) may be required when feeding cows supplemental rations, calving season, irrigation and haying season. ANTICIPATED PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: March 1, 2025 to October 31, 2025. APPLICATION DEADLINE: July 1, 2025. JOB LOCATION: Employer owned ranchland located in Meeker, Rio Blanco County, Colorado. PAY: $17.84 per hour, paid Bi-weekly, plus room and board. Employer provides housing and daily transportation to/from work-site for Employees only. Housing located in Meeker, Rio Blanco County, Colorado. Effective 1/1/25, overtime must be paid after 48 hours worked per week, or 56 hours worked per week for up to 22 "peak weeks" for highly seasonal employers.
