POSITION: General Ranch Worker. REQUIREMENTS: All job duties can occur only during the late spring, summer and fall months when cattle are present and the weather allows for these job duties. Move or relocate cattle. Identify and sort out sick or hurt cattle. Assist manager to doctor cattle. Weigh cattle. Load and ship cattle. Fence work/repair fence. Repair broken wire. Replace broken posts. Repair Gates . Ride a quad to check fence lines, check and move cattle, check irrigation. Basic quad maintenance. Use chainsaw to remove trees that fall on fence line. Use chainsaw for post repairs or trimming. Maintain chainsaw. Drive a tractor for harrowing fields and occasionally feeding hay. Occasional feeding with backhoe. Move supplies or material with backhoe and occasional ditch repair. Occasional post pounding, trail repair and clearing with skid steer. Must be able to ride horses and/or ATV in order to move the livestock safely. Must provide (1) reference from previous employer with knowledge of applicants skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. JOB DESCRIPTION: A signed contract may be required. Three -quarter time guarantee. Work tools, supplies and equipment will be provided at no cost to the worker. Transportation& subsistence expenses to worksite provided by employer or paid by employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract. Must be able to ride horses and/or ATV in order to move the livestock safely. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Attend to livestock feeds and waters livestock by tractor and/or team on range or at ranch headquarters calving, maintaining cattle herd health. Repairs & cleans corrals. Wean calves, vaccinations and pregnancy check cows. Moves livestock to pasture for grazing. Assist with castration of livestock, and identification marking. Maintain all corrals, cabins, buildings, range improvements, and livestock equipment used for proper cattle management. Cleans livestock stalls and sheds, using disinfectant solutions, brushes and shovels. Must have knowledge of repair of fences for the safety of animals, irrigation knowledge and management, planting, cultivating and harvesting hay for livestock. Maintain ranch buildings. Maintain equipment in a working condition and observe safe practices. Assist with the shipping of cows and calves. Longer hours (night shifts during calving) and more days (up to 7 days per week) may be required when feeding cows supplemental rations, calving seaso season. Workers must be willing and able to perform all duties according to the employers' requirements during the contract period. Workers will be expected to work in conditions normally associated with Colorado climatic conditions. All materials and tools will be provided by the employer at no cost to employee. ANTICIPATED HOURS OF WORK PER WEEK: 60 hours per week SCHEDULE: Monday to Saturday 7am to 5pm. ANTICIPATED PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT: 6/20/2025 - 11/28/2025.
