Reports To: Production Supervisor / Shift Lead
Job Summary
The Production Bakery Worker is responsible for preparing, mixing, shaping, and baking bakery products according to established recipes and production schedules. This role ensures that all products meet quality, safety, and consistency standards within a fast-paced bakery environment.
Key Responsibilities
Scale, weigh, and prepare ingredients for daily production.
Operate bakery equipment such as mixers, sheeters, proofers, ovens, dividers, and slicers.
Mix doughs, batters, fillings, or toppings following specific formulas.
Shape, portion, tray, or decorate products based on production requirements.
Monitor proofing and baking times to ensure consistent product quality.
Perform quality checks for texture, appearance, bake levels, and product weight.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures (GMPs, HACCP, etc.).
Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment throughout shifts.
Package finished products for storage, shipping, or customer orders.
Assist with inventory rotation and ingredient replenishment (FIFO).
Work as part of a team to meet production quotas and timelines.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not always required).
Prior bakery or food manufacturing experience is a plus.
Ability to read and follow recipes, production sheets, and safety guidelines.
Good math skills for weighing, measuring, and scaling ingredients.
Physical ability to lift 30–50 lbs and work on feet for long periods.
Willingness to work in warm environments and at a fast pace.
